Volunteer Program Enrollment Form
In order to start with the registration process and to reserve your space during high season (from May through July), Enrollment and Host Family Information Forms must be received at least six (6) months before the program starts.
During regular season, registration process could begins at least twelve (12) weeks before the program starts.
Last minute registrations will be accepted depending on space availability.

Comments:
Observed holidays. Local holidays are to be observed accordingly and no work is required to be performed on these days: New Year's Day (January 1st); Juan Santamaria's Day - Costa Rican National Hero (April 11th); Holy Week (for 2010: from Saturday, March 27th through Sunday April 4th), Labor Day (May 1st); Annexation of Nicoya to Costa Rica (July 25th); Virgin of Los Angeles Day, honouring St. Mary, Patron Saint of Costa Rica (August 2nd); Mother's Day (August 15th); Independence Day (September 15th); Meeting Among Cultures Day (October 12th); Christmas (December 25th). There is no compensation nor refund concerning these days.
Requirements:
US$120 fee to cover paper work.
Fill out the Volunteer’s registration form.
The volunteer must register for a minimum of 4 weeks in ICLC Language Program.
Complete a minimum of 4 weeks of volunteer work.
The volunteer has to cover cost for a home stay: US$700 for each 4 weeks (28 nights). For extensions made once the Program begins, the cost for each extra night with the host family will be US$25.
International health insurance is compulsory.
Since Costa Rica is a Spanish speaking country, to be able to participate in a volunteer position, the applicant must have at least the Intermediate Medium Spanish level at the end of ICLC Spanish Language Program.
A resume including picture and two recommendation letters.
A resent official document, extended for the authorities in the area where the applicant lives, indicating that it is not involved in any type of legal problems.
A personal letter describing yourself and explaining why you wish to participate in ICLC Volunteer Program. Make sure to include your expectations.
Payment Policies: Checks are not accepted. Full payment must be sent through a wire money transfer to ICLC bank account in Costa Rica, in U.S. currency or using your credit card on ICLC secure page for On-line payments.
The name of the bank in Costa Rica is Banco Nacional de Costa Rica and the account number: 600117-4. The name of the beneficiary for ICLC bank account is: Corporación Académica Cultural Costarricense S.A. Be aware that there may be fees for currency conversions and/or wire transfer, for which the applicant will be responsible.
Cancellation Policies: US$200 charge will be requested for all cancellations. If a change of Institution occurs, or the participant does not reach the Spanish level requested, ICLC will either plan another volunteer work or the student may be compensated with the remaining balance for homestay. Programs cannot be ALTERED or CHANGED once the student has started. NO REFUND IS GRANTED once the program begins.
Other conditions: Should it become necessary to enforce the terms and conditions of this agreement by any means, including but not limited to arbitration, negotiation or the filing of any legal action, the prevailing party in such action shall be entitled to reasonable attorney's fees and costs. The validity, interpretation and performance of this agreement shall be controlled by and construed under the laws of Costa Rica.
